The village of San Juan del Obispo is just 5 km to the south and is a popular stop for craft markets.

Park at one of the enclosed parking garages near Arco de Santa Catalina – it's safer than street parking and costs around 20–30 quetzals per hour. Drive to Cerro de la Cruz early in the morning for views over Antigua and the volcanoes without the tourist crowds. Keep an eye on road closures during Semana Santa when processions block large parts of the city center for several days.
