It's approximately 310 km to the north via Route 9 and takes about 4 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. Can I drive to Cafayate from Tucumán in a day? Yes, Cafayate is approximately 230 km to the west via Tafí del Valle and takes 3–4 hours.

It's a long day trip but possible, preferably with an overnight stay in Cafayate. Is it safe to rent a car and drive in Tucumán province? Yes, main roads are generally well-maintained.
