Kapolei is an excellent base for driving Farrington Highway west toward Waianae Coast and Makaha Beach, about 30 minutes away. Avoid the H-1 heading toward Honolulu during rush hour – alternatively, drive HI-90 via Waipahu. Fueling up in Kapolei is cheaper than in the Ko Olina Resort area.
