Visit White Lake Provincial Park, 60 km west, for excellent fishing and canoeing. How far is it from Marathon to Thunder Bay? Thunder Bay is about 290 km west along Highway 17 and takes approximately 3 hours to drive.

Can I take the rental car into Pukaskwa National Park? You can drive to the park entrance and visitor center – the park has no through roads, so hiking is required within the park. Are roads in the Marathon area hazardous in winter?

Highway 17 can be challenging during snowstorms – always choose a vehicle with winter tires and check road conditions on Ontario 511.
