Victoria is the world's smallest capital city and is located on the northeast of Mahé, just 3 km from the Sir Francis Drake Highway and 12 km from the airport. With a rental car, you can reach Beau Vallon Beach in 10 minutes and Morne Seychellois National Park in 20 minutes. Two car rental companies offer cars centrally in Victoria.

Victoria city center houses the Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke Market, the clock tower, and the botanical garden – all within walking distance. Route B1 north takes you along the coast to Glacis and Bel Ombre in 15–20 minutes. Note that Mahé's roads are narrow and hilly; a small car is recommended.

Book a rental car in advance during high season (December–January) when availability is limited. Fill up in Victoria – gas stations outside the center are few. Always drive on the left side; it is mandatory in the Seychelles.

How long does it take to drive from Victoria to Anse Lazio? Anse Lazio is on Praslin, not Mahé. From Victoria, you take a ferry to Praslin (45–60 min) and then drive 20 minutes to the beach.

Can I take the rental car on the ferry between islands? Most car rental companies do not allow the car to be taken on the ferry. Rent a separate car on each island.

Are there parking facilities in Victoria city center? Yes, there are public parking spaces near the market and along Francis Rachel Street, but spaces are limited during rush hour.
